We are looking for an experienced chef and a FoH/ General Manager to lead in our village pub, approximately 8 miles from Shrewsbury.

Please note that accommodation may be available. ideally we are looking for a couple who will jointly run the pub however 2 individuals would also be suitable.

The chef will undertake a wide range of activities associated with such a role; menus, purchasing, pricing and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. The kitchen will be open to serve food at least 4 evenings a week (Wednesdays- Saturdays), Sunday lunch and breakfasts on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. However, opening times will be discussed in detail with potential candidates and mutually agreed upon.

Similarly we are looking for a FoH/ General Manager to run the day to day operations.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience of running a kitchen./ pub.

We are a not-for-profit organisation with a community focus. Many of the front of house staff and some kitchen supports are volunteers. It is therefore important to recognise and adapt to varying skill levels and capabilities.

Skills Needed

We are looking for the following people skills:

  • Ability to motivate and lead a team
  • ·Good communication skills
  • Ability to manage suppliers, including negotiation
  • Good reporting skills
  • Adaptable to ensure the community needs are met whilst also offering new ideas and a changing menu
  • Commercial acumen (costing, pricing, minimising wastage)
